DIY 3 point hitch

Recommended Posts

Ok I have spent the last hour trying to find builds on 3 point hitches. I can't seem to work the search function. I intend to build a 3 point rear hitch for my 310 so I can more easily remove the weight box. This will also help with building a custom log splitter that can be picked up with a quick hitch and will run off my 310s hydraulics. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

I should caveat my 310 has a FEL.

Ok so I want to build a custom 3 pt for my tractor but seeing all these other ones has made me wonder about something. Has anyone built a universal bolt on 3 pt hitch? It seems like all the pivot points are on the same plane. Could I build a box and weld all the connections within the box. Essentially having a 3pt built without being mounted on the tractor. Than make adapter plates to bolt it to the axle and supports for the upper section? I feel like this would not be the prettiest but might appeal to someone just wanting to have one and not fabricate a lot.

Might try this just to see if it generates any interest. I have a local metal fab shop that could turn out quite a few if it worked and people wanted them.

Hopefully next few weeks the floor gets poured in my shop than its time to start playing.

I think stevebo was asking around if people wanted a 3 pt hitch because he was going to make some if several people wanted them.

Having "been there and done that" I would say just build one for you that makes you happy. The cost of the materials and labor to build one is more than what people are willling to spend. If you are thinking of adding a hydro pump/lines or a linear actuator forget it. You will lose money in the deal. If you have your mine set on trying to sell some then you need to come up with a "universal" bolt on type 3 point (similar to the Case) so you can sell to a much wider customer base. Good luck!

Thanks i guess that came off wrong. Not trying to make money. If it worked and people liked it I was willing to have it copied or copy it myself for cost for wheel horse members.
