TT-(Moderator) 1,145 #2 Posted July 9, 2011 Does the shifter move? Has the tractor been sitting for a while? Did you happen to check the brake band? Make sure it's not rusted fast to the brake drum.
rdd52 0 #3 Posted July 9, 2011 the shifter does move and it does look like it has been sitting outside for awhile i will check the brake band and see what that looks like.thanks for the reply :woohoo:
rdd52 0 #4 Posted July 9, 2011 well i went out and checked it out the brake pedal was all the back and hit it with a rubber hammer until it freed up some it will need some lube. and i taped on the brake band that seemed to free it up i jacked up the rear axle and the tires turned freely but it looks like the left rear axle is out about a 1/2 inch farther then the right side the left side is shiny about 1/2 inch toward the center it does push in and out. TT-(Moderator) 1,145 #5 Posted July 9, 2011 Look at the rear wheel hubs and make sure the end of the axle is flush with the face of the hub. You'll also want to make sure the hub setscrew is tight while you're there. Some lateral axle play is normal because of the retainer design. Radial play is what you don't want - which could indicate bad outer (needle) bearings.
