wovennut 44 #1 Posted July 9, 2011 Just finished my first fab and welding project. Made a 49" mid-mount grader blade and ran it on my 520. Our driveway is about 1/2 mile long and all up hill. Had alot of wash-boarding and it cleaned it all up. What a fun piece of equipment. We may make a few to sell if we have some interest in them. Here's a link to the video of it's operation video link below http://youtu.be/ItuZiOAOElM 2

squonk 41,040 #5 Posted July 9, 2011 I was going to ask what the posts were for until I watched the video. Looks great and works great too. How much does that weigh? I have an old Simplicity grader blade fabbed up for my Horse that is very heavy. Did you make the blade itself?
smoreau 658 #6 Posted July 9, 2011 Looks like it works as good as it looks!! on a great job and your driveway will always be in nice and flat from here on out. I like my 50" grader blade and its amazing how well they work.
wovennut 44 #7 Posted July 9, 2011 it probably weighs 75 lbs. Just guessing. We had a shop roll the steel for us, then we made the rest. Also on the sides of the blade, we made it so you could add extra weight to it. We had 20 lbs add to each side in the video.
tarcoleo 119 #8 Posted July 9, 2011 Would be interested in the 40". Where are you? How about mounting brackets? Tom in RI

varosd 1,185 #16 Posted July 9, 2011 Wow! Looks like Factory made!!! the smaller one (40) would weigh about ??? (also have a B-80 that would look great with one!) adding the pegs to add outboard weight was a great idea.
wovennut 44 #17 Posted July 10, 2011 They should fit on most of the long frames. They mount same as the front blade. We didn't have any drawings, we just made it by trial an error. We used a pic of an oem blade. We should be able to ship them by ups. We may make a few in August after vacation. The weight post will hold 3 ten pound weights each. They can be bought at wally world or at some yard sales

Bill Winn 156 #25 Posted August 23, 2022 That is one spiffy job there. Wow. I have a motor grader blade that we picked up in the road ditch on the dirt road by our farm when I was a kid. It's about 7 feet long so I wonder if I could cut it down to 4 feet and make myself a mid-mount grader. I have the rear mount but it would be cool to have a choice of the two.
