WHEELMAN 1 #1 Posted June 19, 2011 my 1276 hydro has worked faithfully for years.Ive never abused it and is maintained religiosly.I lost the ability to do hard work such as pull a heavy load or push dirt. I dumped the atf and checked for broken parts in the valves as per manual.I found broken springs which i replaced as i have quite a selection.I changed atf and filter and the tractor moves ok but not with the power it once had. Any ideas? Is there anyone that rebuilds hydro's? I dont want to junk the tractor as it has become a large part of yard maintenance and snow plowing. What do you think guys? I need help.....................thanks Ed
Kelly 1,030 #2 Posted June 19, 2011 First was the spring you used the same pressure? you know coil count, wire diam. ect..... that may make a differnce, and post you location, someone may know a shop local to you for repairs, or like me have good used trans to sell. shorts 182 #3 Posted June 23, 2011 you must use the proper springs in the trans, close is not good enof, they control the relief pressure in the control system not enough pressure and it won'r move properly, too much pressure and expensive hard parts can be damaged. get the model and serial numbers for the trans and then get the current updated partslist and buy the right stuff for maximum performance.I can't stress enough to get the most current factory info, the printed on paper stuff is usually from pre production specs and not the latest and greatest parts info.
