Come on guys...you all not much help! If indeed the c195 uses an Eaton I was told they are not really rebuildable, found an outfit in MS who specializes in eatons, when I told him the model of the tractor I thought he was reading from a book he was so knowledgeable. You may not want to believe this but it seems even in the 80's and yes even wheel horse was installing parts designed to be thrown away, the eaton on these tractors as well as the transaxle is to be pitch and new installed and according to him you can get both the pump and tranaxle still today, 700.00 for the pump and 1700 i think for the transaxle, the company is below...can any one confirm or deny what I have been told, he said they make some seal kits but not specifically designed to be rebuilt which is what this outfit does....

I don't know about your Eaton 7 as I have an 11. But,here is a link to a pdf that was offered in another post about eatons. I don't believe that it cannot be rebuilt. But others with more info will probably help you out. Click on Eaton below.

Not even sure it is an Eaton I believe there was another one they used I have no clue nor no clue how to tell without removing it. Mine works was just concerned if I could get part. Love the machine but could probably get back the money I spent parting it out if it did go out. The c195 looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor with a 48 in deck and 48 snow plow..Happy so far...Thanks

Your C-195 originally came with an Eaton 1100-032 hydro unit.

If you don't think rebuilding it is feasible, find another unit from a comparable Wheel Horse. (C-175, GT1800/1848 WorkHorse, 300/400/500 H models, etc.)

And just an attempt to save you from spending the additional money- You do NOT need to replace the transaxle if the pump is bad. The transaxle is not a "throw away" item, and is quite a tough unit. I seriously doubt the Eaton pump has enough torque to damage the transaxle even if the machine was neglected or used in a somewhat stupid manner. Unless you see gears hanging out of it, it's probably OK to use with a replacement pump.

Good luck!

There are several models that would have interchangeable parts.

I wouldn't even worry about it right now. If everything is working good now, it will keep working good for a long time. As long as all you're doing with the tractor is mowing and pushing a little snow or grading a few stones, you'll never wear it out.

If the time comes that you need hydro parts, ask again, but in the mean time don't worry about it, just enjoy it.
