I need to remove the roll pins on my gear shifter on my 314 for a new Neutral safety magnet, what is the best way to remove a roll pin?

I'm guessing your wanting to remove the role pin without tear down of sheet metal around the transmission? Otherwise a good roll pin punch would do the trick...

I agree, make sure you use the correct size punch, to small and you'll just chew it up and to big its not going to fit.

Definitely get a set of roll pin punches, much better than regular flat tip punches because the raised part in the middle of the roll pin punch keeps the punch centered in the roll pin and it also keeps the roll pin from getting distorted when your driving it out. They make the job so much easier. I got a nice set of 5 or 6 at Sears (Craftsman) for $19.95 + tax. I already had a 1/4" punch which is what I used the most ..now I have 2 of them :hide: but I wanted a selection of different sizes. Ive used them over and over and they are still like new. Even if you only use then from time to time, its $20.00 that is well spent.
