rydogg 186 #1 Posted May 19, 2011 I am looking at a 300 series tractor with a bad hydro transmission, I have 3 c series hydrostatic drive parts tractors will the trans from one of these work in the 300 series? It looses power when it gets hot so would I need to change just the pump or the whole transmission?
HankB 16 #2 Posted May 20, 2011 The C-120 I just looked up uses a Sundstrand Trans. I believe all 300 series tractors use the Eaton. I doubt that you could swap the pump from one to the other. You might be able to swap the entire trans including the axles, but you might have difficulty locating the controls as they're different between the two. It looks like the C-120 has a manual lift. Does the 300 have hydraulic? If so, that's another issue as the Sundstrand may not have connections for the lift. It might be easier to swap the engine from the 300 series to the C-120. c175inMA 8 #3 Posted May 20, 2011 I believe a transmission out of the later model c-series also known as the blackhoods would work. They all had etons except for some of the ones from
