repairing a sloppy hydro

My motion control assy. is getting really sloppy. One issue I have is that my cam follower pin is worn excessively with a deep flat spot causing the control to float and not transmit motion until you move the lever about 2 inches either way - then it jerks into place. Is it possible to repair or replace the cam follower pin? Toro/WH part no. 5995 is no longer available from what I can tell. Could this part be turned easily on a lathe? Would that cost an arm an a leg? I can't see how I can get the hydro to run smoothly without a round surface on the eccentric pin. Also, I've found that it only works (well) with the lobe oriented upwards (give or take a few degrees) so you can't just turn the flat spot away from the cam groove. If I remember, turning it 90 deg removed the slop but made the control dangerously erratic. Any ideas or experience with this?

I just happen to have the 5995 cam pin you seek.... as well as all of the other parts associated with the motion control hardware under the shift plate. Some of the parts I have are new old stock.

Is it possible to put a couple spot welds on the flat spot, and then grind it down to where is is smoothe and round again? Just a thought...

That's what I thought, but I don't have a welder in order to try it out. Maybe I could rough the old cam pin up then roll it in JB weld and sand it down?

BTW, Dave (above) shipped me all the replacement parts I needed to completely rebuild the linkage. He even made one of the bushings for me. If you guys need weird stuff that is NLA, don't hesitate to hit Dave up. Sent me plenty of hardware pic's. Some people won't do that.
