Just a quick question, where does the starter solenoid mount on the tractor? Currently mine just lays on the battery and I want to fix that, dose anyone have a few pictures where it should be? Also what is the best way to run the gas line from the tank, on the left or right side?

They did not use a solenoid originally, the key switch transferred power to the starter, yours probably has a newer ign. switch, and can not handle the load of cranking the engine, so a solenoid was added, you will have to find a place that looks good and mount it.

Save Old Iron

Anywhere that allows easy access to the battery and starter terminals would be fine.

If the solenoid is a 3 terminal configuration, attach it to any grounded part of the tractor.

The fact it is now "just laying on the battery" makes me believe it may be a 4 terminal with a separate ground wire attached. If it is 4 terminal, just make sure the ground wire from the solenoid is attached to a good ground.
