C- 101 8-SPEED STEERING SHAFT

Recommended Posts

Well after experiencing steering wheel wobble for years I finally decided to do some thing about it...I ordered a new steering shaft (20.5" long,3/4 diameter)from Mowparts.com,#92-4987....I noticed another roll pin hole drilled 7 3/4" down from the steering wheel roll pin and at 180 degrees apart....anyone know what it is for?

Anyhow, I noticed the teeth on my original 33 year old shaft were worn sharp and looked to be rolled over viewed from the side causing a lot of play down at the sector gear(lower steering shaft). I'll prime and paint it tomorrow & put her back together this weekend. I had replaced the original steering wheel back in 96 when I restored the tractor....didn't notice any play back then..must have been the 10 years of use that followed.

I can't remember who tipped me off to www.mowparts.com but thank you! What a difference in price! Although I'm sure if it was bought directly from Toro it would have come painted....no biggie!

They don't come painted from Toro either. Mowpart gets these directly from Toro. I have been using Mowpart.com long before I was a member of RedSquare. They are always cheaper. That is why I always recommend them to anyone looking to buy Toro parts online.
