nwh1-0475 0 #1 Posted May 21, 2008 My machine shop can't find any info on the valve spring height and pressure, can anybody provide this info for me. Thanks, Dustin
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #2 Posted May 21, 2008 There are no specs in the book for K series valve springs. The only valve spring-specific information/instruction from Kohler is to install them with the closer coils up - or towards the head of the valve. There isn't really that much seat pressure on these old engines to worry about it and I wouldn't be afraid to reuse the original springs -- unless you intend on installing a high-performance camshaft. As far as a stock rebuild goes..... the only thing I can tell you is if you (or the machine shop) are concerned about them, you'll just have to buy new springs.
nwh1-0475 0 #3 Posted May 21, 2008 Thanks TT, it is just a rebuild nothing special I just didn't want to put something back in the motor that wasn't any good. Thanks for the info. Dustin
