Redbirdman 7 #5 Posted April 11, 2011 You better get up there and enjoy it! I would if I could figure out how to get there...................... What you see in the photo is the "soupees".......the Superstition Mountains right behind 'Radio Butte', below 'Four Peaks' this side of Roosevelt Lake......and that is the home of the LOST DUTCHMAN gold mine. No roads, no trails, no nothing. Quite a few people die there.... a lot never found....every year. The top is about 8000 MSL or 6500 feet above the land...so it is always 20-25 degrees cooler. Maybe next year..... ed :D

Redbirdman 7 #8 Posted April 12, 2011 Now go'on git!!! First,,,,,,,,,,,it would take me a year to climb to 8 thousand feet, Second,,,,,,,,,,I am scared silly about the thought of climbing out on the wing and leaving her. Third,,,,,,,,,,,,What if the wind blew me off the mountain and I parachuted into the valley into: ----------- APACHE JUNCTION---------Apache Junction Gold Canyon & Queen Valley, HOME OF THE SUPERSTITION MOUNTAINS AND THE LOST DUTCHMAN MINE. where there is nothing but Cowboy, Dike and Harley Bars, Strip clubs and lonely widows living in trailer camps and RV parks?.............. hmmmmmmmmmm, on second thought...."hey honey wheres my old parachute?" ouch, nevermind, bad idea ed :D
horsefeathers 15 #9 Posted April 12, 2011 I would don my "divine wind" head band... Climb to 8000 ft. and give all for my plan... To never return! Sacrafices must be made!!! Now go'on git!! Horsefeathers!
