I have a 62 lawn ranger with a 3 speed trans. I am looking for a how to on changing out the axle seals an brake seal. also is there any thing elce i need to do to the trans be be for i put it in paint also what type of oil do i use for it. any help would be grate thatnks

Dunno bout the seal, but I used 80/90 in mine.

All three of your seals should be the same size, 1". Toro part number #1232.

Remove both hubs and the brake drum. Pry the seals out with a small screwdriver, ice pick or hook. Clean the axles well, removing any burrs from the keyways. Lubricate the axles and inside of seal, and insert the seal fully. Be careful not to damage the seal by driving it in with anything hard or sharp. Same basic procedure for the brake shaft.

I would change the input seal also, behind the drive pulley, while your at it, as for the shifter boot, get one from a local Toro dealer, they run about $5

Edit: The 1303 has been replaced by a #100441

Somehow I duplicated my posting, so I edited it and put the new seal number.

The number for the boot is 3577.
