Gunny 240 #1 Posted April 7, 2011 Just thought would pass this on. My Dad and I made this about 30 years ago. The original rusted out, he had the stainless steel and the time. All the hardware was salvaged from the older deck. Anyone know how to get red paint to stick to stainless?

zieg72 209 #3 Posted April 7, 2011 Sherwin-Williams sells a product called Industrial Wash primer that you put down first and then can top coat it with red.

Martin 2,133 #5 Posted April 7, 2011 Looks cool. Powder coat. even with powder you still need to blast the stainless to 'key' the powder to the surface, otherwise it will just peel off in sheets.
Gunny 240 #6 Posted April 8, 2011 Thanks for the info. About to begin a redo on our 857, this goes with it. Hope to have it finished by late summer. Think I will just clean and shine the deck up. The oldest of the small herd. Dennis
