COMMANDO1 23 #1 Posted April 4, 2011 I am trying to get my alis chalmers homsteader running. the starter was turning very slow w/ a full charge. took apart and cleaned all. she is now spinning good. my prob now is i have no spark. here is what im thinking. this tractor has a key slot and push button start. the starter will engage with button and no key(which i do not have) question....do i need the key turned on to generate spark? zieg72 209 #2 Posted April 4, 2011 I would think that is why the key switch is there, on/off...

zieg72 209 #4 Posted April 4, 2011 I am pretty sure I remember getting AC parts from a Simplicity dealer on IN-41. It has been several years ago so I don't remember which one. They may have a key. You could always remove the switch for now and jump the wires to get it running and deal with it later.
