Playing with a D-160

Been messing around trying to get this thing going that I picked up a while back. I got the engine running (K341), the mid lift and the three point lift go up and down easily, but the thing won't move back and forth. Can you have one without the other, meaning if the lift cylinders work, should the tranny work, or is it separate from the lift cylinders? The tranny's oil is full.

If the lifts work I would guess the connector (Engine to pump) is not the immediate problem. There are several easy to follow diagnostic charts in the Sundstrand Manual. That would be where I would start.

Is the push valve closed ??? I

Don't feel to bad I just did the same thing, with the C-160 I just got running hopped on and no go, I was bummed thinking it had a bad trans, then a light bulb went on, I opened the tow valve when I bought it to load it last fall.

Just for the record: There are two different pumping elements within the one Sundstrand pump. Both are driven off the same input shaft.

1.) There is the main hydrostatic pumping element composed of a variable displacement, axial piston type pump. This pump can be varied from zero to maximum displacement on both sides of zero--one direction is forward, the other is reverse. This pump is referred to as a "closed loop pump", meaning that the oil moves from the appropriate discharge side of the pump, through the motor (which is a fixed displacement, axial piston motor) and then back to the other side of the pump in a

pfrederi, I see you have a D200 "FEL"... I've been racking my brain, but haven't figured out what the "FEL" means. Enlighten me if you don't mind. Though I've been a member here since '07, I haven't been very active and am on a learning curve.

Thanks,

Henry
