how to clean or recondition a good working trans that has sat all winter now has water

and some minor rust in it without splitting it open?

can you flush it out with Kerosene and then put new 80/90 back in?

Drain it, then put in the correct quantify of kerosene, diesel fuel, or home heating oil, which ever is cheaper. Fill it and run for a while. Drain it and do it all again. Once you get the majority of the water out, fill it with 80/90 or whatever the manual calls for. Check for leaks. You should be good to go.

I totally agree with Bob, my only addition is to not work it hard when driving around with the kerosene, diesel fuel, or home heating oil in it. Take it easy, you just need to stir things up.
