1968 Raider

HUSTON

I have a 1968 Raider 12 Wheelhorse tractor.

Transmission gears in great shape, last person that worked on it to fix a case problem didn't get it back together so everything would work properly. When put back together the low and high range lever only works in low range. It worked before so it is just a matter of having someone get the gears and lever back in place.

The unit shifts Reverse and 1,2,3 I pattern no problem, just stuck in low range.

Any ideas?

go to the guy who 'fixed' it.

If there is an adjustment on the range lever, that may need to be adjusted.

Chances are it's something little, so some ambition, a service manual, and a good weekend should fix it.

Hey Huston... Check out this thread around the "hi/low" part for sure. If you want to tear into yours to fix it using this guide, we can walk you through it. See what you think and let us know.

been there done that,it could be the shifter that switches the gear or slides the hi lo gear is not on the race that it rides on,it means splitting the tranny and taking the detent ball out to move one of the gear clusters to get the shifter on the proper place, just takes some time and be carefull of loosing the detent balls, theres a spring in between them
