1970 Raider 10 question

Horse'n Around

I have a vexing problem with the drive belt guard on my Raider. it still had the original HH110 Techy in it but it was missing parts so I installed a good running HH120 that I picked up. Here's the source of my quandary . The drive belt guard lines up and all the bolts fit perfectly everywhere except the forward / upper mount at the engine block. At this location, the threaded hold in the block is located much lower and forward of the mounting hole in the guard. When the guard is bolted in place everywhere except at the block, the relationship between the belt and the keepers (or whatever they are called) built into the guard are perfect. However, if I was to remove the bolts that are holding it in place on the body and running board, and attack it at the engine, the guard would be rubbing on the top of the belt and the lower keeper/guide is a good 1/2" away from the belt at the bottom, and the rest of the bolts wont fit. Now I know I can just drill a hole in the guard where its needed at the engine block mount with the guard bolted in place on the body of the the tractor and everything will fit as it should, but I do not want to hack the guard and I cant help but feel that there's a reason for the way fits both Techys  The belt guard fit the same on the old engine too, in fact the PO hogged out the hole in the original belt guard big time to make it fit at the block mount behind and above the crank. I got a belt guard from Jordan exactly like the one that I got with the Raider that's in great shape and had not been hacked like the one that came on it which that came off a Techy powered Raider he had and they both fit the same way. Were the belt guards by any chance different for Kohler equipped Raiders than for Techy equipped Raiders?

The Raiders Model number is 1-6051 and the Serial number is 695089 which means it came with the Techy, now if the belt guards are different, could I have two belt guards for a Kohler powered Raider?

Im a bit cornfused about this, if anyone can help out with this me Id appreciate it.

John

Some guards are for specific engines, but I have many guards off mid 70's tractors that have two sets of holes, one for tuckys and one for Kohlers, I would just drill the hole.
