WH 854 fender question

Recommended Posts

jb4249

I am putting my 854 back together today and noticed that the fenders are different sized. The left one had 3 grooves in it the the right one has only 2. The right one is shorter in the front than the left. Is this right? Or has it been maybe cut. I'll get some pic's after the OK ame.

The fenders on my 854 (now being restored) look the same to me - both have 3 grooves.

I can tell you both style round hood fenders with the stamped ridges, all look alike, yes there are left and rights, only difference is the 62 and early 63 fenders only have one set of upper bolt holes the mid 63 and all 64 fenders have 4 upper bolt holes, now the 701 fender is different as it is more pointed at the tips, and has no upper bolt holes except one, in the center near the top for the support brace.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I can't find the serial number on my 854. It was in a fire or very close to one. I can read the 854 on the belt guard. Any ideas on the serial number location? - Carl

The serial # is on the tag that has your shift pattern. By the looks of yours

It has been re-painted so it could be hard to see
