Philipp 1 #1 Posted January 15, 2011 I went to a local gardentractor dealer today and guess what I saw behind the building, standing in the rain. The owner said I was 2 years too late. He had threw everything away (mowerdecks, parts, blades,... except this one. He said that the old horse reminded him to his dad. I said that it was a shame the machine was outside in the rain and that I would take good care of it. The pictures were taken in the afternoon, my father and I stripped it, the engine was stuck, but no water in it. In the tranny tough, there was quite a bit of water, I hope the bearings aren't damaged. Oh yes, before I forget: some pictures seat is in good condition, except it's wet I think that hole shouldn't be there All this time it was just 5 km away from my home... VinsRJ 721 #5 Posted January 15, 2011 Thats a nice find! I wouldn't worry to much about the bearings as they are standard form. I'm sure you wil be able to locate them in the UK. I would worry more about badly pitted gears. Tear it apart and report back. Good luck!

Vinylguy 4,672 #12 Posted January 16, 2011 can you get good images and dimensions of the engine decals? I would like to be able to provide decals for that engine. Tractor decals I have available now.
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #13 Posted January 16, 2011 I would like to be able to provide decals for that engine. It's not the original engine, TD - so those decals might not be a big seller. Definitely a nice Lawn Ranger though! :banghead:
Philipp 1 #14 Posted January 16, 2011 Thank you for your reactions. Neil: I'm indeed from Belgium. A little question for you: Is your gt-14 bought on Ebay a while ago (the page on Ebay had a video of the gt going on and of a trailer)? Vinylguy: I think I bought decals from you for my c-161. They are great, but I haven't installed them, first I have to restore him. Do you want pictures with a measure tape next to the decals? I'm really surprised that the late 60ies models were exported to europe...
Anglo Traction 761 #15 Posted January 17, 2011 Well done Philipp, Excellent find. Look forward to seeing it when you have finished working on it. Those Round Hoods are good looking Tractors.
AMC RULES 37,102 #16 Posted January 17, 2011 Really nice find right there. Good luck with it. :banghead:
Hammerhead 816 #17 Posted January 21, 2011 Good find! That is a 1968 Lawn Ranger. The only year they made that 3 spoke steering wheel, the seat is a one year only as well and the side hood decals are all only made on the 1968 Lawn Ranger. wheelhorse656 20 #18 Posted February 23, 2011 nice score but i think the tecumseh is a replacement from the 70s. the type decals that are on it are a dead give away.but you should be able to replace those with the correct one and nobody will ever know! also where the starter goes threw to the flywheel the shroud has a spot where it sticks out that would be completely round but its squared off and smooth on the frontside. so it is definaly the 70s model engine around 74 75. Terry i have the correct decal for the shroud that is used on all the tecumseh models i can get you a good picture and a demensions if you would like the decal on the front shrould on this tecky is almost like the original. let me know. Thanks Jordan
