looks great so far!!!! Got me thinking about doing one on mine. The subframe was hardest part, trying to picture in my head what I wanted, couldn't think of anything. After looking at yours, now I have an idea!!!!!

(now I just need a welder)

:banghead: looks real good!! I was thinking of attaching my subframe to all 3 attachment mounts on my c 120 or 417a. My buddy dosnt think the front two are strong enough :ROTF: what do you guys think? :hide:

The factory sub frame for my loader only uses the mid Tach A Matic and connects to the tranny. No problems so far.

After looking closer at the pics, I noticed that the rear of the sub frame is using the quick attach. I'm no engineer but I wouldn't attach it to the tranny that way. I would think that the forces involved will put to much pressure on the small tabs that hold it up. They are designed to handle the force pushing horizontal but not down. When pushing the loader into something, the force is transfered to the towers and then to the sub frame. The leverage pushing down on the rear of the sub frame will pop those small tabs. Maybe I'm wrong

I've gotta admit I'm coveting your FEL project over here Boatman. :banghead: Wish I had one too. Sigh, someday.

Your making some good progress :banghead: I do have to agree with John, I'm not sure that the plow bracket would be strong enough, i would think that it would just pop the two latches right off, I would recommend tying the sub frame into the tranny itself and take off the plow mount, possibly weld a piece on the sub frame to go over the axle.

I drew this real quick to kinda show what i mean, it's a lot like the kwik way sub frame, sorry its not 3-D

:ROTF: Hi to all,

My thinking on using rear bracket to mount sub frame was to

make it easy to take off. With front mount being bolted

directly to frame, there should not be to much push on rear

end. Also sub frame shouldn't push down to hard as it can't

move much do to the front being bolted with 2 bolts. I will be

adding a support from upright down at an angle to another

part of frame work on front of tractor to counter act rearward

forces from the push of loader arms. Now I could be wrong with

my idea. If so it wouldn't be hard to add a brace up to bolt around

rear axle. I appreciate all input. :banghead:

:banghead: smoreau,

I Took off mid tach mount and used those holes to mount

subframe to. I was worried about bracket strength also.

Also there would always be a little movement there due to

play in rod in the mount. There is no wiggle in mine at all

as far as I can tell right now.

BOATMAN

:banghead: I think your right. I will make mine mount to the rear axle the way the c series plow mount bolts to the rear axle and not pined. and use the holes like you did with brackets. what about all that load on the front axle, should there be a brace to help support it from the sub frame? that is alot more weight then normal with a fel on front. what ever tractor I do use, it will be built for fel 520 swipt front axle and geared steering. :ROTF:

 Hi Smoreu,

I picked the gt-14 because it is built pretty strong and also it

has roller bearings in the front wheels instead of the small ball

bearings. It would be nice to have a geared steering like some of

the 520's. That would make a nice tractor for a FEL. Might make a

good prodject to put a hydostatic steering system like the hyster

forklift had that I used to drive. It was simple as it had a control

head with the steering wheel, and then a hdraulic cylinder that was

hooked to spindles. Food for thought. :banghead:

 Hi all,

Front end loader project is nearing completion. Just need to finish

installing hoses and cylinders and bucket. Everything is painted and

in process of installing all back on tractor. My hoses and oil filter

should be here monday. Once hoses are on, will put hydraulic fluid

in and give her a try. Soon as I get it done I will get my daughter in

law to post pics for me. Still do not have posting pics down yet.
