I ordered a idler pulley (ebay) and the pic CLEARLY showed a metal pulley. It came Friday and was PLASTIC. The seller is shipping me a metal one. Also, after two weeks, my steering parts came!

Next up, I'll clean and paint the engine and get it in there... and finish the steering.

That's all for now, JB

Jon, this build is looking great! This would be a good opportunity to provide a "how to" on fixing the hood holes. I could sure use a lesson or two in that area. Keep the updates coming.

Thanks for the comps!

BUD, as with all of my tractors... It'll be a worker. I can imagine it pulling the moldboard plow in the spring...

Jim, you got it! It will probably be a couple weeks before I start on the hood, so keep your eyes open for a thread on hood fixing...

The idler pulley came today...

sackburner_034.jpg

So I got out the markers, ruler, compass and scissors and did some arts and crafts...

sackburner_035.jpg

And transferred it to steel...

I'll pick up a belt tomorrow, paint the new guard and that part will be done.

Yes, it's welded... It's amazing what you can do with a flap disk. They make grinding much more accurate and smooth.

Here's a pic I took with my cell phone after I got it tacked together...

Bell, Fine lookin' guard! Did you use a Greenlee konck out punch on those holes?

What are you usin' 20 gauge? Ohh...and yer usin' a flux core gasless mig?

Dam fine work! You got the skills to pay the bills bro!

Keep the "Satchel Burners Lit"!!!!

No knockout punch... Just a holesaw, chucked up in the drill press...

Actually, I'm not sure what gauge it is... somewhere around 11... It's pretty thick.

Yes, gasless, flux core...
