BTW...... does that old saying still matter:

"You can put Lacquer over enamel but you can't put enamel over lacquer!"

or was it the other way around I don't remember...

But I do remember it was a big problem if you used the wrong primer or filler............does that still hold true???

Hi Ed , Yes it still Holds. You cannot put Cellulose Polymer based Paints or Laquer over Enamel/Oil/Spirit based Paints. But you can put Enamel/Oil/Spirit Based Paints over Cellulose Polymer based paints. If you do , you get that Lovely Wrinked lifting effect.

so I had it backwards then afterall.

The right way is: "You can't put lacquer over enamel but you can put enamel over lacquer".......
