drydave 2 #29 Posted December 11, 2011 Finally got started on it with a new class this year: slowly making some progress. One young man took on the challenge of the hood, ball peen hammers and scrap metal shapes to work most of the dings out, then rattle can paint. VanSickle equipment enamel, rattle can, Massey Ferguson Red gloss is the closest I could find, cheap. (hope I posted correctly!)
drydave 2 #30 Posted December 11, 2011 Front views: Students "chickened out" with attempting to hand paint the white lettering, so the instructor had to show them how even he could mess up... Have some orange peel effect (rattle cans, and it was a little cold- next time we will warm the cans of paint before using, hopefully to increase pressure a little) Just a little sandblasting and hand sanding left, and will start painting the rest of the red. drydave 2 #31 Posted December 11, 2011 And I just realized that perhaps I should put all of this in the resorations, etc forum- will do that when the remaining parts are ready for pics.

Not yet- site is blocked at school, I'm planning on surprising them though- once it is a little further along
