kaiser 100 #27 Posted December 13, 2013 merry CHRISTMAS indeed! i just dropped a fruitcake on my toe. that toe will never be the same. is it me or do all fruitcakes look the same? like they were all made in 1930 and they just keep getting regifted? does anyone actually like fruitcake? 1
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #28 Posted December 13, 2013 Aside from being very dense, fruitcake has a very low moisture content and an excellent absorption ability. The key is to soak it in liquor for 1/2 hour before consumption.

squonk 41,118 #30 Posted December 13, 2013 My wife years ago helped out an old lady. The lady gave her a fruitcake at Christmas. We didn't want it but my wife didn't want to throw it out. I figured I would have a little fun with it. At work was a guy who was a complete slob who drove a big old late 60's Caddy. The inside of his car was a mess. The amount of stuff in it would have filled 2 full size p/u trucks. I took that fruitcake and buried it inside the Caddy figuring it would be there for eternity like a cornerstone of a building. About a week later he comes in and says " I don't know who put that fruitcake in my car but it was great!!!" I found the only person in the world who likes fruitcake!

JC 1965 1,530 #33 Posted December 14, 2013 I never did like Christmas being replaced by an X. Thanks for your post Terry and thanks for bringing this to everyone's attention. Merry Christmas to all !!
TT-(Moderator) 1,131 #34 Posted December 25, 2018 Been seeing a lot of that letter "X" lately...... Seemed like a good time to resurrect this post. 2 1
ClassicTractorProfessor 5,314 #35 Posted December 25, 2018 This was long before my time here at RedSquare, thanks for resurrecting this old thread Terry. This has always drove me nuts, and I can promise you my X is the last thing I want to deal with this Christmas . Also, maybe I'm a little weird, but y'all can send all those unwanted fruitcakes to me and I will be glad to properly dispose of them for you To all of my friends here at RedSquare, I wish you and your families all a very MERRY CHRISTMAS 1 1 1

You know Terry, I know you have a real job again and don't spend a lot of time here these days. But it seems like you do show up pretty regularly around the holidays. Are you... Are you Santa Claus? 1

I was just able to start Christmas shopping a lot earlier this year - which is when I normally get reminded of this "historic" post. P.S.> Hard to believe that I've been at that same "real job" 11 years this past August! 4
Pullstart 62,892 #41 Posted December 17, 2019 Merry Christmas everyone! I love to annoy the girls and sing loud and bad with that Happy Holiday song by Bing Crosby... but otherwise I think Christmas should never be replaced by the word holiday.... Holiday cakes? Holiday parties? Nope. They’re here for the Christmas Season.
