Engine paint

Recommended Posts

dgjks6

On my way to walmart for christmas shopping. Gonna get engine paint while I am there.

When do I paint it?

What paint - high temp for everything - carb, air cleaner, shroud, etc?

Do you paint before you put the shrouds on?

The only place I used high-temp paint was the exhaust pipes, and mufflers. I have done two motors, and no problems. Just my $02 from experience.

I only use the high-temp on the engine block, and leave the carburetor and head natural aluminum. Sometimes I'll use silver high-temp backyard grill paint on the aluminum parts though. I paint all the shrouds and air cleaner with the same paint I put on the tractor.
