bigbobbyb 0 #1 Posted December 13, 2010 Hello, One of my neighbors has this Bolens front mount sickle bar for sale. It appears to be in excellent condition and the blades move back and forth easily when the pully is turned. It's got a 44" bar. Anyone know anything about these? Do you think it could be retrofitted for a WH C-100? .....the price is right... Thanks! Attached Image
Kelly 1,029 #2 Posted December 13, 2010 That is for a walk behind tractor, I guess you could fab it up to work, the pulley is on the correct side.
defed 0 #3 Posted December 14, 2010 it can be done. i had one from a 'merry tiller' that i made fit my 653. it worked fairly well except it was pretty heavy in the raised position. lowered, it rode on its skids. sickles, in my experience, don't work that well in fine grass. courser material (weeds, goldenrod, small dogwoods etc) cut much better w/o clogging. bigbobbyb 0 #4 Posted December 14, 2010 Thanks for the feedback. Note that the sticker on the side of the mower says "Bolens UNISICKLE".
