Good job on makin your own dual wheel adapters... :D

Did you use Photobucket to post them pictures? Why are the pictures two feet wide? :ychain:

Hope that all thread was grade 5 or less cause grade 8 will snap under stress after welding.. ALL grade 8 bolt and all thread or screws or anything grade 8 cristlyies ( spelling sorry ) when welded.......Other wise looks great . Any body ever make a set and fill the center with some kind of weight ?

All thread available here in hardware stores is only grade 2 or 5. I think grade 8 is special order or specialty fastener store item only.

Nice dually adapters by the way

I made some wheel weights out of concrete and thought about making them to fit inside a dual wheel setup. Just need to cut the conduit for the threaded rod the right length and adjust the form to the right height. Might get about 35 - 40 lb of concrete in there. Somewhere close to a 10 inch round cylinder 6 inches in height. Just an idea for you .5racer!!

This could help too....not sure what width wheel this is for though.

Nice work!!! :ychain: Looks like it worked out very well. I think I'm going to try to make a set of these. Have an extra set of tires just begging to be put on to the tractor.

I do have a question. Do the duals help with plowing snow? Have you noticed a big difference in traction or weight displacement?

Like the idea of filling it with concrete as well.

Thanks again for the great post!

I can't speak for the traction on the 8.50's and 10.50's, but I have dual 6-12 AGs on my 633 and the snow traction is AWESOME!!! LOVE THEM!

EDIT: Ryan, I see that we are not too far away from eachother.... Might have to get together sometime and talk Horses.

can whlvr

i have duals on a machine, turfs with chains, for alot of snow i found that the duals were in the way, they are out further then the plow clears and i seemed to get stuck more, but conditions are different all the time, duals are very cool looking though, and really good in spring, they spred the weight so it doesnt hurt the grass as much

The 6" dimension on the drawing should be 6-3/32" if the diagonal holes are 8-5/8" center to center.

Very nice. I did the same to mine in the summer. The only problem that I was worried about was the amount of tire rubbing between the two tires. It's a catch 22 You can snug them up really tight, but then your smashing the two tires against one another. Too lose and the tire will walk and rub also. Let me know if you see any long term affects, but should be no problem for occassional use.
