What is your most fun attachment?

Well, we only had a few inches of snow, but it was enough to motivate me to

plow. Pure joy. Which got me to thinking what was more fun, plowing snow

or my one time with the moldboard plow. I thought I'd get your opinions.

Here are mine:

Most used: 48" SD mower deck (at least in summer).

Most versatile: Dozer/plow blade. Year round use, from snow to dirt to

pushing trash cans. Have only taken it off my 310-8 twice in 10 years.

Most fun: Toss up between snow plowing at night during a snowstorm,

and using the moldboard. Just got the moldboard this fall and used it once

in order to dig a trench. But watching how that thing worked was pure

amazement.

Most anticipated: I've got a tiller that needs work, but I plan on getting it up

and running for the spring. I've already got a list of chores for the tiller

that are beyond tilling the garden! I've gettin' the 416-8 prepped and ready

for the tiller.

For me its the 42" tall chute blower on my 416. It allways amazes me to see how far it will chuck the snow!

Hard to say, but I just got a sickle bar mower for my GT14 and look forward to using it. I guess I would say all of the attachments are fun in one way or another.

My favorite is a Sears 32 inch pull behind lawn sweeper. Just got it this fall for $10.00 at a yard sale. Leaves are an easy job now and getting something useful for 10 bucks fuels a lot of happness for me! :ychain: :D

Well using any is fun, till you have to use it over and over and over, like a snowplow or blower, I like plowing or snowblowing for the first few times then it gets old, unless I have spare time to just set on the tractor and play.

I definitely would say the snowthrower is my favorite attachment for a few reasons:

I am a snow addict. I mean, snow is my crack. Every winter I spend countless days and nights in a plow truck and 40 hrs at a time is not uncommon for me. I go until my body won't go any further. When I come home after a long run, my jacked up circle driveway is not plow truck friendly so I park the truck and fire up the snowthrower. Its a blast! Literally hahaha..... and another fun fact about the thrower is that it was originally a Craftsman unit I modified to work on the 520H, actually rear mounted due to the drive pulley placement and rotation needs. so It's a little different. Last year was the first year I had it on the tractor and had to way to really angle the chute other than grabbing and turning it. This year I put a motor on it so definitely looking forward to getting to use it.

The rototiller is kind of fun to use, but after using it for our 4,000 sq ft garden every year for 12 years and most of those years using it for various tilling jobs when I owned my landscaping business, the newness wore off.

I hate using the mower deck. Having been spoiled by the speed, handling and cut quality of commercial zero turns, anything with a steering wheel and a crappy stamped deck is nothing but sheer depressing for me. It is a painfully slow overly laborious process which yields nothing but mediocre results. I sold off all my cool toys and now must use the tractor to mow 2 acres and there's no fun in it. It wouldn't be as bad if I had a 60" deck for it but the 48 is too small for the yard and the tractor. We bought the tractor with the house and i think the previous owner didn't go for the big deck due to concerns with scalping, he mowed pretty short and the yard is very hilly and with a lot of very uneven spots i'm sure the 60" deck would have been disappointing. My 60" zero turns have never had a problem with it but I mowed with them at a higher height than this tractor will even go, plus the deck hanging, overall footprint and anti-scalp wheels are a totally different design on them.

I have had moldboard plows and discs in the past, the plows are an absolute blast to run!!!!!!!!! And I've had many snowplow/dozer blades, they are fun to run too and very useful.

I gotta admit, mowing gets a bit old, but at least it is outside and the yard looks

good when done. I'm not quite at the point where I *want* to hand off the job

to my boys, but I think this year I'll share duties, even if for their sake. The

48" deck really is not big enough for the 2 ac; it would be nice to have a 60".

Back when I was in college I worked for the local town during the summers

and was not only introduced to WHs, but also a Toro 60" mower with the lift

deck out front. Steering wheel, no steering handles. Mowed like crazy, but

unstable as anything. . . which made for half the fun for a college kid!

(Can I mow a bank that steep. . . let's try. . .)

I plan on tilling a garden of about 2000 sq ft. Sittin' on the mower going real

slow may not be a joy, but just thinking about the fresh tilled soil gets me

going. I also have some land-smoothing/grading tasks that I plan on using

the tiller to loosen the soil and the plow to level out. Really looking forward

to this.

Love cutting grass in the summer. For me its relaxing. I take my time and our 2 acres usually takes about 90 minutes. I have a 50" deck and it works well for me. That's the one that I use the most.

My most fun one is either the moldboard plow or FEL. The FEL is kind of a hassle taking on and off, it can't stay on when using the deck. The plow is really cool to watch. Heck, the cultivator is fun to use too, as is the disc. We have a 15 foot by 60 foot garden so it gets a lot of use as well. They're all fun come to think of it! :ychain:

I favor the blower first, it is dual purpose. It cleans up the leaves from my elms in the fall and Snow in the winter. Next would be the tiller. Anytime I am on the WH working or just for a drive, I am happy, happy, happy.

I would say, my Roxy-Bonner 3 gang reel mowers (in the process of resto over the winter) 60 inch cut, floats over most bumps, not having to use the PTO...much better than the 36 RD deck since a lot of grass to cut.
