suburban 550 decals

I am looking to purchase decals from redoyourhorse. I am wonder which is correct for a 1960 suburban 550. The website shows the white background for the suburban 400 and it shows the black background for the RJ-58. I have seen both these on the 1960 suburban 550. Which is correct ? :thumbs:

I had already looked at these photos in the picture gallery. If you look closely you will sIee the first tractor has the white background. The second tractor in this tread has the black background, and the third tractor has the words Wheel horse and no background. Are all three correct ? My 550 did not have any decals on the hood when I purchased it. I would like to hear some opinions as to what would be correct before I make a purchase. :thumbs:

Here's what I can tell you. The owner of the first tractor (white background decal) is Ray Baker (Suburban550). With a user name of Suburban550, and a penchant for detail, I would have to guess that his 1960 Suburban 550 is done to original specs.

The decal in Bob's pic above is the 1960 decal... correct for the 1960 400 and 550. Many were changed over the years as tractors were repainted, and many guys just used whatever decals a dealer happened to have in stock.

In the gallery, the black lettering is the 58/59 RJ decal, and the Red script is from some of the later square hoods 65/66/67 time frame.
