mattd860 162 #1 Posted November 27, 2010 I bought 2 quarts of 80w-90 for the 8-speed tranny on my 418-8. If poured both of the quart containers into the tranny and then realized that one can was 85w-140. Someone at the store must of put the 85w-140 can behind the 80w-90 and I didn't notice until after it's too late. So now I have one quart of 80w-90 and one quart of 85w-140 in my tranny. Is this bad or can I run with it?
mavfreak 11 #2 Posted November 27, 2010 That really isn't going to hurt anything at all.
dgoyette 12 #3 Posted November 27, 2010 I would leave it - no big deal. The uni drive -8 has manuals recommending both 90 and 140 gear oil. No real explanation why one manual recommends 90 and another manual will recommend 140.
