Recommended Posts

WH854

Sat. I went to see a fellow about an 8 speed transmission he was selling. Ibought it for $40.00. I think it was worth it! Iwill be using it for spare parts what is left of it anyway. Here are some pictures!!!

Oct3002.jpg

PUllys are off and the hub in this picture!

Oct3102.jpg

Had to sacrifice the drive pully it was a bit stubborn!!

Oct3101.jpg

I will need the left side of case if I would want to ever use it.

Oct3107.jpg

I wonder some time how people can break stuff, especially where the case is broken in the picture. The man I bought this from said he bought it from another man. That axle was flopping up and down in the case

Chas :)

Great Idea to grap up these tranny's!!! I'm buying or Acquiring all that I find.. Up to 5 8spds and 2 4spds as of now. Almost all the gears and bearings will inter change depending on the model of tranny!! So any extra parts others may need down the road!!

Howdy Guys and Gals!! Another day has passed I did some more work on the transmission today. Took all the insides out as per the manual, every thing seem to be ok, except the hi-low shift fork broken  I didn't take any pictures because my hands kept getting oil all over things :D I will try when I put it back together. I have to buy some seals and that shift fork (Hi-Low) maybe some bearings, I have some bearings in my ditty bag(you navy guys should know what a ditty bag is) :wh:

I also removed the needle bearings out of the bad side of the old case.

This next picture shows the bearings still in the case.

I would like to pull the roller bearing to if I can get the right puller

If my parts come this Monday I will be all set to put it back together. :wh:

This transmission I put  in my C-165 Auto, also installed a manual lift and clutch peddle and parts for the brake

I think I named everything it works anyway. I have a C-165 8 speed instead of Auto :scratchead:
