KB9LOR 4 #4 Posted November 2, 2010 Okay guys having a problem, when I get the tranny back together it will not go into any gear, when I put it back together it is in neutral, when I loosen the bolts holding it together, it will move and shift, when I tighten it down it wont. it must be in a bind, is there a trick to get this to quit binding up and to shift properly? It will also not move when this is happening, trying to turn the input shaft.
rmaynard 15,598 #5 Posted November 2, 2010 What's the model number on the transmission?
WH854 44 #7 Posted November 3, 2010 I am not an expert on transmissions, but I had a fellow rebuild a four speed. The same thing happened to mine.It turned out he had to remove a thrust washer on the large reduction gear assembley.Hope that gives you an idea. He took it out of mine, it worked fine after that.the manual has about the thrust washers. hope this helps. Chas

KB9LOR 4 #9 Posted November 3, 2010 Sorry for the no update. I am now waiting on the new gasket, should be here anyday now. And it should go back together without removing the thrust washers, all I did is swapped gears.
