cjh 0 #1 Posted October 19, 2010 Hello! I had no idea this terrific forum existed until late last week when a friend told me about it, what a great idea! My name is Chris, my first exposure to Wheel Horse was with my Grandfather who owned a mid sixties model, don't remember exactly what it was. Now that I see the resources available here, I will dig up some old pictures and figure it out. My grandfather would use the heck out of that tractor first at his house then at the cottage up North, always then would let my cousins and I play with it after a good day of hard work using it. So naturally I had very fond memories associated with it. When my wife and I finally got to a point in our lives where we had a little bit of a yard to take care of and the need for a larger mower I started looking for my first Wheel Horse. My Grandfather was still alive when I purchased my used D-160 16 years ago, and I was happy to let him drive it around the yard and thrilled that he approved my purchase. He would ask me about that tractor even after he couldn't see anymore or get around much. I am happy to say it has provided a lot of service around here, grandpa didn't lead me wrong. Even though I don't currently have room in my life for a project, I look forward to the day when I will be able to have some free time to putz around in the shop with a Wheel Horse to tear down and restore. In the meantime I believe I have found just the place in this forum to allow the dream to stay alive. I will enjoy following what is happening in the Wheel Horse world!
