Polaris2007 4 #1 Posted September 18, 2010 So I am in the process of putting the throttle linkage back together on my freshly rebuilt K301. I'm pulling my hair out trying to get the throttle linkage and cable attachment points set up correctly. I have had four different K301s and all four had their throttle/choke cables and linkage "rigged up" by the previous owners, and NONE of them were set up the same. I want to set this one up with "factory original" throttle and choke cables and linkage. Is there someone out there who would be willing to take a photo of their factory original setup so I can see how it is SUPPOSED to go? Maybe if someone has their air cleaner off it would be a good chance for a photo? Thanks in advance............
sorekiwi 761 #2 Posted September 18, 2010 This is about the best picture I have on my computer, I'm sure I've seen a better one somewhere in another thread here. Obviously the carb is missing too! On this tractor the choke cable goes through the middle of the engine, on my other 3 with the same set-up it loops under the blower housing and up to the bracket that is held by the same bolt that secures the inner side of the coil. Avoiding that sharp bend makes the choke a bunch smoother, so I would do it that way if I had a long enough cable.

rmaynard 15,932 #9 Posted September 19, 2010 Since the C-120 and the B-100 are the same, I will post pictures from my B-100. The throttle cable comes out of the tank support and attaches to the bracket held on by the PTO assembly. From there is goes under the exhaust nipple and behind the upright governor arm. It then attaches and is held by the clamp shown. It continues over and down, in front of the governor link to the attachment screw. The choke cable follows the fuel line under the blower housing, and comes straight up to it's holding clamp. From there, it attaches directly to the carburetor in the hole shown. The pictures should also help with the governor linkage as well. If you need any more detailed pictures, let me know. Hope this helps. Bob
Anglo Traction 761 #10 Posted September 19, 2010 Ok Jon, K301s in my 72 raider 12 as per Factory settings. I presume your working to the Engine manual (Section 6)and have sorted the Governor Arm n Cross shaft positioning and just need the layout. I have added spacer washers on the rod pivots and a plastic sleeve on the spring end to eliminate slack and rattles. The action is very smooth and precise.....Not guilty for the hammer dents in the Muffler, they have PO's name all over them !. Also note Anti overchoke valve on Choke Plate...couldn't find any reference to this in the Manual(s). Anyway, hope you soon get your Motor running !.......Oh and neat jobs on the 1075 n C141 Garry B ........and Dan, I expect you to be paying a visit to the Tire Store soon!. Regards. stolly23 1 #12 Posted July 11, 2013 I know this thread is really old, but if anyone can tell me the name, part number or where to get the screw that attaches the throttle cable to the govenor that would be great. I just realized that the person who hooked my c85 with a k301 did the throttle totally wrong. Thanks for reading
