Restoring my C160

Recommended Posts

massey

Been doing some painting and assembly. Sandblasted everything to bare metal, primed and painted individually with PPG Omni. Zinc plated some hardware and new hardware every else. Still lots to go, so many small parts on these things. Hope you like it.

Looking good. Yup those small parts can be tedious, but thats how you can tell a good job and a half a$$ one.

Operator, the rear tires are Duro 23X10.5X12.

Butch, old gas pumps and such are one of my other addictions.

Thanks for all the comments, I'll keep grinding away.

Great job on the tractor. It may be time consuming to do it the way you are tackling it but when it is done, it is done right! :)

Terry,

I guess it's been at least 6 weeks so far, I only get to work on it on my days off as long as there aren't more pressing chores to be done.

Ok massy, where are the updates? I cannot wait to see this project advance. I have been waiting on someone to do a proper restore on a c-160, and I (we) want to see some progress!!! Take your time and do it right, but hurry up. :) Show us the dream machine. :):USA: :wh:

Thanks for the interest. I'm slowly getting there, redid the dash panel, hung the selector valve and lift cylinder, did the tie rods, painted the engine and tins, etc.

Still have to address the major sheet metal, hood-fender pan-belt guard.

I put an 84" drive belt on from Tractor Supply, the book calls for an 84.22" one. Does that sound right?

Here's an update. I finished the wiring except for the lights and it cranks and has spark. I could not start it because I forgot to paint the dipstick/filler tube :) (it does have 2 qts in it though).

I made up new hyd. hoses got about 5qts in the transmission and it shows overfull right now but hopefully the pump works and it pulls the rest of the fluid through ( I don't know if the trans works as this unit was apart when I bought it).

Next is the sheetmetal work.
