tommybro 1 #1 Posted September 5, 2010 Hi, My son and I are in the process of finishing up a 607, we got it for "free" and are in the process of putting in a 8 HP Kohler. We had pulled in our local fair with it when it had a 6HP Tetumsch and 6" lug tires on it. He pulled 1050 lbs for 9". I was thinking, I have access to some older ATV tires, just the typical turf type with the "nobbies" on them. I do not have the cash to go out and buy a bigger lug set and am just looking to have him to be able to compete more. The first time he pulled he came in dead last the second time he was second to last . I really think the tires were the problem. Do you think it would be worth getting those mounted on the tractor tires? I would think he would be able to pull better with the wider tire. Is it legal to run these type of tires? The rules do not state andthing except for no cut tires. Please let me know your thoughts or experiences
jhunsch 20 #2 Posted September 5, 2010 Hi Just would like to add pulling with 8 Hp is just plain fun, I just pulled yesterday in lively, Va. We did the 1050 class pulled 129 feet low range 2nd. Watch the video on youtube, seach Lively Nina and check out my photos on photobook. $150 for tractor and deck, $200 for tires http://s839.photobucket.com/albums/zz315/j...orse%20a%20B60/ http://s839.photobucket.com/albums/zz315/j...dy%20to%20Pull/ Jeff Not sure the atv tire are worth the effort. tommybro 1 #3 Posted September 6, 2010 cool pics, around here the only thing we have entered has been stone boat pulls, the $200 is kinda pricey for my money ( I spent money on the smaller lug tires before he decided to start pulling)
