dlshow 0 #1 Posted August 29, 2010 I am new to REDSQUARE as of an hour ago. I bought a 416-8 several years ago. I thought it was a very "antiquated" design BUT as I began to work on it I realized it was just a simple, easy to work on work horse that just keeps going. I couldn't believe how it plowed snow the 1st winter. I have heard from several Wheel Horse owners about what a great tractor the 520H is and have been casually looking for one. I finally found one at a garage sale this week. I was looking through the garage sale ads which I never do and saw a 520H listed. I immediately drove to the sale sight that evening before it opened and asked if I could see the 520H. Wow! It was very clean with a 48" deck. It started right up and ran like new. It has 791 hours. It even has chrome wheel covers. Cool! I asked why he was selling it and he said the guy he just bought his house from, who was the original owner of the WH, didn't need it anymore and included it with the house sale. He said he wanted a zero turning and really didn't like the Wheel Horse. He thought 2 acres would be just to much for the 520H. What? When he said he wouldn't take less than $600.00 I about choked. I gave him $600.00 immediately. Did I do good? Should I go to confession? I have a snow plow for my 416-8. Will it work on my 520H? It looks like it should. I got tons of paperwork work including the original sales receipt, manuals etc. The deck had a half dollar size hole which I have already repaired. I have changed all the filters, cleaned the deck, replaced the deck belt and put on new blades. It should mow great now. Anybody have grass that need cut? The grass isn't growing in Indiana. It is great to be apart of Redsquare. I am looking forward to chatting with fellow Wheel Horse owners.

Shuboxlover 478 #3 Posted August 29, 2010 I love my 520..... As long as your tractor does not have a swept forward front axle, the plow will work. If it has the swept axle, you will need to buy a short extension adapter piece (someone here will have a pic and part#) so you can swivel the blade, or else it will hit the front tires. :)

dlshow 0 #9 Posted August 30, 2010 I'll get some pics this week and post them. I live in Greencastle, IN. I am a retired band director. Like many of you who are retired I have too many interests and not enough time or money to enjoy them all to their fullest. whfan74....I used to go to Warsaw every summer to Winona Lake. I lived and taught in the Ft. Wayne area for several years. Loved it there. Thanks for all the friendly greetings.

stevebo-(Moderator) 8,330 #15 Posted August 30, 2010 Sounds like you did well. First thing you need to do is make sure all the cooling fins are clean. That is one of the issues with the onan is they overheat due to clogged cooling fins. Well worth cleaning them.
