HoosierWH 0 #1 Posted August 20, 2010 Hello, newbie here from Indiana. I am looking at a 1963, 653 and was wanting to buy it to restore. My questions so far are,,,, Are parts hard to find for this tractor? Are there snowplows made for this tractor? Would 250.00 be too much for this tractor if it is running? I have searched the net looking for info on the 1963, 653, but have not found much at all regarding this model. Is this tractor rare, since they only manufactured it for one year? The tractor I am looking at is in decent shape, well restorable, I think. The owner says it has oil running out a rubber tube from the engine? Would this be an easy fix? Thanks for all replies and info. Looking forward to becoming a Wheel Horse owner soon!

stevasaurus 22,530 #5 Posted August 20, 2010 :wh: Click on this thread for some great pictures that should answer most of your questions. This is from the photo gallery. http://www.wheelhorseforum.com/index.php?showtopic=8585 Enjoy the site I don't think that this tractor is particularly rare, but it's age and being a round hood make it collectible. Shouldn't be too hard finding parts in Indiana, and the price may be fair if it is in good running shape. Post some pictures if you can, would give us a better idea. :)
wheel horse 1045 2 #7 Posted August 20, 2010 yes thats sounds like a good deal if its running and its got the original motor, try to show pictures if possible and :)
JUSS10 250 #8 Posted August 20, 2010 if all the parts are there and it runs. i'd say $250 is solid. parts aren't terribly hard to find. its more a matter of how much are you willing to spend. engine parts are still easy to find. a lot of parts can be built to if they are missing or broken. good luck! HoosierWH 0 #9 Posted August 26, 2010 Well. Looks like I am going to be a Wheel Horse owner now! I am going to pick it up on tuesday. It is in great shape body wise! It doesn't have the original techy in it though... It has a pull start techy in it now, but I am going to keep my eye out for a original 6 HP techy to slap in it. I will post pics as soon as I get the chance.
