Aussie 98 #1 Posted August 20, 2010 I have been looking for a Wheel Horse tractor for some time but they are not plentiful here in Australia. Meanwhile I have been browsing on RedSquare and have gained a wealth of knowledge and ideas. Since I began seriously looking earlier this year I have only seen three 520H's advertised for sale, and none of them were close to me. Well, I finally bought a 416-8 a couple of weeks ago so am joining the forum. The tractor looks a bit rough, mainly due to peeling paint, but is solid and runs well. It appears to be relatively complete and has done 675 hours. It is a 1989 model and has a 42" RD deck. I am going to repaint and tidy things up. The left rear axle seal is leaking badly and I think the brake shaft seal may also be poor. I will replace all of the seals. Other than that it mainly needs a good clean and service. This is the first WH I have seen other than the 520's. I don't know how many came to Australia, what models were sold here and over what period of time. I do however remember looking at a new 520H in a dealer showroom in the early 90's and being very impressed with how solid and well made it looked. I also recollect that it was very expensive. Looking forward to participating in RedSquare and mowing with a real GT. I'll try to post a photo or two.
