Update on the Horse Dad left me :)

Horse'n Around

Well Im making progress, on it. I basicly have the frame done and steering done, I fabricated and welded in a new frame plate that the front axle is sandwiched between to replace the horribly butchered one that was on it, also I made a new battery box and new steering shafts to go along with the other major repairs I made to the frame but Im stoked with the results. I dont have a shop to work in, I worn on my front porch and right now we are having our much needed monsoon rains so rather than letting the bare metal get some rust on it, I opted to use a rattle can of Banner Red to protect it untill I can strip and redo the whole thing. Please excuse the spacers that I had to slip onto the spindles, the front wheels are not origional, the width from bearing to bearing is much narrower than that on the origional rims.I plan on buying the correct rims for it but Im going to wait untill ne move to PA to do it, paying for the shipping would cost a lot,in the mean time I just slipped some spacers on the spindle for now so I can roll it around. When I replace them who knows, maybe someone will need these rims and they will find a good home when I get the "new" ones.

Anyway, heres the pictures. Just a side note, I dont know why but in some of the pics, the red paint looks really orange, it must its defineately red,it must have something to do with the direct sunlight when Im taking the pics or something.

Ace lookin job AZTrooper. That's the way to do it slow and easy. It looks a little orange but I think that is because it is just not hot enough over there in AZ. So I'm trying my best to push this H out of E Tx over your way. Everything is VERY red here. So I just wear these all the time :) .

Thank you for the kind words. It is so much fun to work on,I made the battery box from a old resdential electrical breaker box and I cant thank ole550 enough,...Mike set me up with the steering sector and the steering pivot that I desperately needed. As you can see from the pictures, the old parts were a pretty bad mix of homemade and mangled origional parts. Im having a lot of fun doing this. Im going to be on the lookout for a hood for it as well as a gas tank assembly with the instrument panel part also. But that will come in time, for now Im having a blast working with what I already have.

I know that Ive posted pics of it before, but I really love this pic because it has my two favorite guys in it.this is the one that Im restoring, thats my Dad giving my son JJ a ride years and years ago.... JJ is 24 now :) It kind of makes me feel old come to think of it :USA:
