bonedaddy 0 #1 Posted August 6, 2010 Just signed up after lurking for a couple days. Went and looked at a 1966 1067 with a tiller that has been sitting since 2005. A guy I work with inherited it in the late 90s from his grandfather who was a wheel horse dealer back in the 60s and 70s. He said his grandmother used it once a year for about an hour to till her garden between 1966 and 1979. After that his grandfather just kept it in his collection of 9 wheel horses for 20 more years. When my coworker got it he just used it to ride his kids and grandkids around for a few years the had to move and had nowhere to store it so he put it in his brother in laws shed where it has been for 5 years. He doesn't like the idea of it sitting there gathering dust and rusting so he sold it to me. Im gonna go Saturday and try to get it running. Keep your fingers crossed. It looks rougher than it is in the pics......its actually pretty clean with hardly any wear and tear. I'll get better pics after getting it running and washing it. bonedaddy 0 #14 Posted August 8, 2010 Got good news and bad news. First the good.....went out yesterday and put in fresh fuel and hooked up a jump box, cranked it for about 10 seconds and it whirred to life just as easy as anything. Drove it onto trailer and took it home. Now for the bad......After getting it home and running it for about 30 min it started spittin and sputtering and then died with fuel pouring out the air filter. Took off the carb bowl and float only to find the float full of gas. I've found the gaskets and float/valve stuff online, but there is a nice small engine place down the street with a Kohler sign out front i'm gonna try tomorrow to see if they can get it. All in all it was a good day.
