Lane Ranger 10,847 #1 Posted July 18, 2010 My uncle picked up a 1968 Raider 9 for use several days ago. He has some very nice John Deere garden tractors. He has owned Wheel Horse in the past and completed some very nice restorations. His mchine maker rivalry is going to new ends and and I got to see his addition to the steering wheel for this first year model/version of the Raider series. Notice the steering wheel insert and greene steering assist knob additions: Long live Wheel Horse!

linen beige 14 #5 Posted July 19, 2010 Look very closely at the Deere on the wheel cap. It has a dark bar across the eyes like a censored photograph.

Lane Ranger 10,847 #7 Posted July 19, 2010 I have the right emblem to send my broher for the steering wheel. It is actually surprising how many garden tractors used the same steering wheel (I know Simplicity used it and the same size emblem insert) . I just did not know how low some JD people would stoop! I saw about five JD tractors on wheel horse frames at the two shows we went to this weekend. RED Wheel Horse paint peaking thru the green chips on the front of several "custom" John Deere garden or pulling tractors.
