jdog_kustoms 82 #1 Posted July 16, 2010 :D on my bronco i was drivin it for the first time today and when i go down a steep slope it speeds up till like the rear can catch up then slowes back down but it never seems to loose power or not move when i run it just has like some slop is this normal or is rear goin out :D Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

kpinnc 12,426 #3 Posted July 16, 2010 If the freewheeling is just momentary, I wouldn't worry about it- so long as it is controllable. If the tractor maintains power under load, and the freewheeling can be safely controlled- then the tranny still has a long life ahead of it. Several of my hydros freewheel a bit when I am headed down a slight grade. I have heard remarks that this is a sign of the transmission going bad, but I have yet to see evidence of that. Just keep up the maintenance on the transmission and keep using it. It is 40 years old, after all. :thumbs: Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
