nylyon-(Admin) 7,294 #1 Posted September 24, 2007 Even though I am looking forward to using my new snow blower, I'm missing the warm weather. Today was beautful, we ended up cutting down the front gardens (using the trailer on the 416 to cart it away of course) to clean up for fall and winter. I checked the mower blades which were all new at the beginning of the year and they sure got dull. Must have mowed more than I thought..... Well fall is here and getting ready... What are you using your Tractor for this time of year?
Rollerman 290 #2 Posted September 24, 2007 Well I'm really likeing this 312A I picked up with the Pico vac attachment. I had maybe 20 leaves in my yard...but I got em...LOL As you can see from the pics I've posted my yard does not amount to much. The Pico vac attaches directly to the tractor & uses a large bag as a container. I have an Agri Fab vac...but the cart setup is rather large & hard to work with in a small area. Bt thats what I'm doing..still mowing...next will be setting up for plowing. Stephen in northern IN
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,507 #3 Posted September 24, 2007 I always feel nostalgic this time of year as the days get shorter and, even though the leaves are still green, I know it's just a matter of time before the turn color and fall. I usually mulch my leaves as I have way too many trees to try and do any leaf pick up. So I get tractor time by mulching. I may mulch a little and then bag some of the mulched leaves this year. Sparky-(Admin) 21,352 #4 Posted September 24, 2007 Well the leaves are starting to come off the trees so that job is staring me in the face, but the new addition is giving the B-100 a workout. I had a total of 9 trees dropped and 6 of em are in the addition area so I have been cutting em up into managable pieces to haul off to the wood pile. I actually heard the Kohler 10 start to labor under the load. Mike.......
nylyon-(Admin) 7,294 #5 Posted September 24, 2007 Mike, offer is still there for the chipper if you need to borrow it. I think that it's an MTD but it is good for all those little branches. Long way to drive to borrow it, but thought I'd throw it out there for ya. (And the Michelob is cold too!)
T-Mo-(Moderator) 4,507 #6 Posted September 24, 2007 I need to take down a few trees myself. I have 5 acres and about half is wooded with the other half yard with several trees. I want to clear off the half that is wooded and just leave a few trees. Just don't have the time......
nylyon-(Admin) 7,294 #7 Posted September 24, 2007 Terry same offer for you too :D
Sparky-(Admin) 21,352 #8 Posted September 25, 2007 I actually loaded all the brush on the big trailer (5 loads) and the wife took it to the town dump and tossed it in the brush pile. I had to go first to make sure she wouldnt have to back up the trailer to get to the pile cause we all know how bad that would go . As far as the wood goes I will split enough for camping and sell off the rest. Anyone want some fire wood? Mostly Ash and Oak. Thanks for the offer Karl.. Mike..... nylyon-(Admin) 7,294 #9 Posted September 25, 2007 At the price of oil this year, I'm tempted to come and get it. If I run the fire place I can just about heat my home without the furnace. I would just need to kick on the furnace for hot water and to warm up in the morning....
