grant 0 #1 Posted July 10, 2010 Hello, My name is Grant I'm 19 and my brother got me hooked on wheel horses. I had just finished up mowing on my 607 and decided to put some pictures of her on redsquare. This is my second horse. This tractor came with the 32" mower and snow/dirt blade for 210 dollars. My first wheel horse purchase was a 657 that came with a snow thrower, snow dirt blade and a mower. I paid 300 for the 657. The 657 however has now thrown a rod and is awaiting a kohler transplant. The 607 however runs great very little to no smoke at take off and the governer works just like it should. The orginal owner that I bought it from told me that was the orginal tecumseh motor and I didnt think it was but if i recall the model number said it was 67 or 66 either way the guy said it was orginal. I was just wondering if anyone else has ever seen a 607 with a white tecumseh h60. My brother and i love tinkering with these things check out my brothers converted 856 to 806(I know they never made an 806). Just click the url it will take you to youtube. The video features him doing a little cultivating the url is below.
DMK855 15 #4 Posted July 10, 2010 Grant, As for the engine, my 607 has a engine spec. number of hh 60 105014b, which I believe is the original engine. It is painted the same color as the tractor though! Yours looks like a nice solid machine! Good luck with it!

BPjunk 184 #10 Posted July 12, 2010 Grant , The engine in your model 607 has been replaced, all Wheel Horse engines of this era whether it be Kohler or Tecumseh were painted Wheel Horse red. If you find a Tecumseh engine on a Wheel Horse that has a red engine shoud and a white block you will also find a small metal tag affixed to the output side of the engine, this is a replacement short block. It is neat to note that the 1966 and 1967 6hp model Wheel Horses used the cast iron block Tecumseh engine. Wild Bill

dkopp 1 #16 Posted July 13, 2010 That is a nice looking 607 you have there. My dad has one that he bought second hand years ago and that's how my family got the bug so to speak. The techy on his threw its rod years ago and he put a Kohler M8 on it and its been a real good tractor for him.
Polaris2007 4 #17 Posted July 16, 2010 I have a 607, and it has a white tecumseh on it. Actually, it is a rust colored tecumseh, but it was white in it's younger days. You can see it here in this youtube video......

dandan111 31 #19 Posted July 17, 2010 My Dad bought a 607 new. It has a aluminum block I believe it is a standard h-60. I know Dad put a short block on it in the 1980s but the rest of it I believe is original? I remember it was red and has been fogged black over the years. Maybe it had a hh-60 but I dont think so...
