Snapper 28" riding mower

Recommended Posts

persof

Since WH decks are so hard to find (expensive) I picked up a Snapper 28" riding mower so that my Wife / Daughter could help with mowing. The little Snapper seems to run well but engaging reverse takes a bit to much effort.

How is that "disk" transmission adjusted?

Thanks

Francis

You just replace the drive wheel, when the rubber gets worn out. Reverse is a pain, just try not to back up if there is any other way. Use the a Wheel Horse where you have to back up and use the Snapper out in the open where you can just loop around on the already cut grass.

I would love to use my 312-8 but I cannot locate a deck for it at a reasonable price

PS: I emailed Snapper and they sent me a illistrated parts list and complete service manual

My grandfather had one he bought new like 20 some years ago.

It would never stay in reverse you had to hold it(tight)to

go in reverse. The engine always ran fine but the drive system

was junk. Maybe we were not respecting the machine

at 13 years old we just wanted to be done mowing,

and hope none of our friends seen use on that goofy snapper!

(It was better than walking)
