rickv1957 72 #2 Posted July 1, 2010 Ron,I just use the open end of a 1-1/8" wrench and gently work seal in by tapping on wrench,Rick
rmaynard 15,675 #3 Posted July 1, 2010 Ron,I just use the open end of a 1-1/8" wrench and gently work seal in by tapping on wrench,Rick That is assuming that the axles are out, right Rick? If you are doing a seal replacement with axles in, I think you you can carefully tap the seals in with a length PVC pipe placed over the axle. I think it was 1-1/4" schedule 40 or 80 PVC. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Bob
tarcoleo 119 #4 Posted July 1, 2010 If you clean up the axle, you can use the wheel hub to nudge the seal in place. Tom in RI
The Toolman 22 #5 Posted July 1, 2010 Thanx guys, the wheel hub is a good idea. My axles shine like a diamond in a goats azz anyway
Operator 7 #6 Posted July 2, 2010 I keep a short piece of pipe just for that . Never thought of PVC though! Good idea. Randy
