jdpuller 2 #1 Posted June 25, 2010 Our first stock puller started out as a bronco 14 with a 16hp Kohler my girls and i completely stripped it down and sand blased it then repainted it built a custom pulling hitch and front weight bracket. She took it out for the first time on saturday needs a little more work I think the rear end is geared to high but shes having fun. unloaded and a little nervous scaled and ready to go here we go just a little more now it dads turn to make some noise I will add some pictures of the build tonight if i get time. thanks to everyone on Red Square for you help during this project. ok thats better
Stress Test Pullin 0 #2 Posted June 26, 2010 to lower your speed some and gain some power back, put a smaller size belt pulley on the engine. this lowers your speed in all gears, i do the same thing with our pullers, using 4", 4.5", and 5" pulleys, but thats on dirt and clay but sharp looking horse, great job!

jdpuller 2 #5 Posted June 26, 2010 I have a friend who runs a 1057 and he changes his crank pulley from time to time but he is running a gear shift trans and I have a hydro. I know the hydro probably wasn't the best choice but I thought it would be easier for my girls to learn to drive. If I change the crank pulley will the hydro still work properly/ or will it give the gear reduction we are looking for? We have another pull this afternoon and I am going to put the stock tires back on(23") because she had the biggest tires (26")of anyone and they are soft so they take power.
jdpuller 2 #6 Posted June 27, 2010 well it ran better with the small tires but I think we still need more motor. I dont think the governor is set right I'm going to try to adjust it tomorrow.

Crazywheelhorseman 67 #10 Posted June 28, 2010 One thing most people forget is when we go for larger diameter tires to get that larger footprint we lose torque. but as we go with smaller diameter wheels we gain torque.
jdpuller 2 #11 Posted August 10, 2010  It took a little bit of tuning but the girl got here first win last weekend. Now i think she might be hooked. now we can finnsh all the little details and make it look good to.
jdpuller 2 #12 Posted July 15, 2011 We reworked our bronco this winter. I installed a 8 speed 8 pinion rear end so we could put our big tires on again. My girls wanted decal with flames on it for in the hood so I made a custom wheel horse logo. after all that work we still seamed to be a little down on power so I installed a 30 mm carb that I drilled for E-85 WOW do we have power now. here is a video of Tara taking first place last night.
